Weekly Words from the Pastor

Some of you may recognize this photo of the earth taken in December 1968 by the Apollo 8 crew as they returned from orbiting the moon. It is an iconic picture in history. We will be reminded today that this picture has a deep connection to our scripture text this morning from Genesis 1:1 -2:4.

We begin our sermon series The Great Green Growing Season, this morning and begin at the logical place of creation. We might not think there is anything new to hear from Genesis chapter one, but there is much to be remembered about our place and role in God’s creation. We serve a God and Savior who have never ceased to create. We may only think about plants, flowers, and crops growing during this season, but we also should be growing. How can we continue to grow as a part of God’s creation?

God’s Grace & Peace,

Rev. Kathy
