Outreach Ministries​
Backpack Buddies
Many children don't have enough food at home and rely on school meals for the nutrition they need. Our Backpack Buddies ministry was organized to help fill this gap. Backpack Buddies presently serves 21 children who attend Pelham City Elementary School. Each week, the children receive a backpack filled with nutritious foods to cover six meals over the weekend. We purchase the food from the Second Harvest Food Bank in Thomasville, and normally include 25 individually packaged items such as oatmeal, soup, canned vegetables, and peanut butter.
The Backpack Buddies ministry team includes those who shop, stock items, pack bags, deliver bags, check inventory, as well as those who do administrative work such as completing reports, writing articles and expense accounting.
We are excited about the new school year. Please mark the following dates on your calendar.
The first packing date is August 10, 2015.
The first delivery date is August 14, 2015.

Pelham Parkway Service
Every other month, members from our church visit the Pelham Parkway Nursing Home to provide a worship service for residents. It is always a blessing to share a few hymns and a brief message with these seniors who are unable to attend church services. If you would like to pariticipate in this meaningful outreach, please contact the church office or meet the group at 2:00 p.m. at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home on June 12, 2016.
